This year, they wanted to do their session in the fall and in a new location to switch things up. Katie asked me if I had ever done a family photo session in downtown New Buffalo before… I told her that I had, and sent her examples from previous sessions, highlighting the adorable beach town’s best photo spots so she could get a feel for what their session would look like.

She was immediately in.

I told her that we should meet at Starbucks on Whittaker Street and we could start there and explore the downtown. I love meeting people at Starbucks for downtown sessions, because they can grab coffee if they want, and their car is parked there for when they finish if they want to bribe their kids with a cake pop or other yummy treat ;) also, the New Buffalo Starbucks has the most gorgeous white black and gold mural wall outside in their courtyard and walkway. It makes a really neat background for photos, and really adds variety to a person's gallery.

We got the cutest pics of their family, and then some solo personality portraits of the kiddos. I love getting to capture *them* in their element and having fun and being silly!
